Royal Palace of La Almudaina

Another interesting ancient building that tourists should visit in Mallorca is the Royal Palace of la Almudaina. This magnificent palace was built after the conquest of the Catalan empire during the XIII century. The palace was used as a Royal home for the kings of Spain and afterwards the palace become the principal building where important governors and viceroys held reunions.

Royal Palace of la Almudaina Mallorca In the year 1963, the Palace was renovated and was declared officially a noble property exclusively used for Royal purposes. Nowadays, it is one of the greatest museums in Mallorca. The construction possesses an interesting square shape and crowned tower as homage to Archangel Gabriel. The structure is partially surrounded by the ancient city walls and it is strategically situated in front of the Le Seu Cathedral.

Inside the building, visitors can find the elegant and outstanding things such as the Santa Ana Gothic Chapel, the Patio del Rey, the Queens Patio, the Sant Jaume Chapel, the Arab Baths and the Throne Room.

Nowadays, everyone can visit the Royal Palace of La Almudaina.

It is open from Monday to Friday (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 2:00 – 5:00 PM).
On Saturdays, the building is available from (10:00 AM to 2:00 PM) and it is closed on Sundays.
