Shopping in Mallorca

Mallorca is a modern island with a wide range of commercial centers such as public markets, boutiques, department stores and artisan stores, to mention but a few. Usually these businesses operate from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm in the entire territory. Furthermore, Mallorca is characterized for its numerous fruit and vegetables which offer fresh and juicy products all the year round.

Visitors can find several shopping centers in the entire island; however the most visited is the City Palma de Mallorca where tourist can buy all kind of Majorcan stuff. This island also possesses important shopping streets such as the fashionable Passeig des Born with many designer boutiques and the elegant Jaume II street with several stores.

There is also an important commercial center situated under the main square where foreigners can find a lot of stores of handbags, artisans and other souvenirs. Moreover, the D´Alexandre Rosselo Avenue is a crowded site in Palma de Mallorca city, because there is El Corte Ingles which is the largest department store of the area. In these commercial center you can find some useful tools for tourist, like translation tools, dictionaries or Spanish verb conjugation resources.

On the other hand there are other important stores such as Al Campo and Festival Park situated in Marritxi and the Porto Pi Shopping center located near the Cala Mayor.
